FHI Studio’s Mike Morehouse Featured on “The Road That Killed A City” Podcast
March 23, 2022

Highway expansions may seem prosperous in theory, but in many cases, history can prove otherwise. FHI Studio's Michael Morehouse joins the conversation on "The Road That Killed A City", a six-episode podcast that the Hartford Courant newspaper calls "unflinching."

The series explores the major urban renewal plans of the 1960s in Hartford, CT, particularly the I-84 Viaduct, and the subsequent effects on mobility, economic development, and systemic poverty in the capital city.

In the final episode, Mike speaks on the I-84 Hartford Project, an initiative aiming to identify solutions for the dated urban highway; and the subsequent Greater Hartford Mobility Study (GHMS), a project considering the travel needs of people using all modes including bicycle, bus, car, train, truck, and walking to develop a plan for improved mobility throughout the region. FHI Studio is part of the consultant leadership teams for both projects.
